Microstock: earn money by selling pictures

cercasi grafico, fotografo, illustratore AAA Graphics, Photography, Creative ...

you a graph?
A photographer?
an illustrator?
A creative?
Or, in general, a graphic arts enthusiast?

This post is for you. Yes, yes I'm talking to you! ;)

microstock we have already discussed (namely, here), and as promised I'm here to explain how earn money by selling photos through microstock sites.

The principle is simple: the Microstock sites are nothing if not the actual agencies.

They sell pictures, and pay a percentage author.

The fee varies based on a number of factors, except in special cases, belongs to the author from 20% to 60% on photos are sold at very low prices (starting at 20 cents each).

The license sale is of type Royalty Free (RF): This means that the image purchaser pays the copyright at the time of purchase, after which can be used without restrictions in respect of a contract of course which provides for specific restrictions of use (for example, an image acquired with RF license can not be sold). But this type of license will talk in more detail in another post, I will not bore you;)

The fundamental concept is that the sell on microstock large (very large) scale : The advertising market is always in need of unpublished material, and the microstock works on the principle that
is much easier to sell 1,000 copies of a photo to 25 cents
rather than a single copy for $ 25
.
  • For graphics professionals and photographers: is an opportunity to embrace a market niche not normally reached by traditional means, using photos that remain largely unused in the bottom of the hard disk. By investing a little 'time and resources in targeted advertising, however, you can get interesting gains.
  • For enthusiasts, you are amateurs with a good digital camera or graphics amateur having fun with photoshop, paintshop, illustrator and so on and so forth, can be an excellent opportunity to improve its graphic and photographic skills (the microstock requires quality standards high enough), and in gaining something more: if you are imaginative enough, you do not need expensive equipment to create a picture that "Sells".
These are some of the microstock sites that I personally experienced.
Royalty Free Images
Each has rules, sales statistics and commissions different. Some of them have given me much satisfaction over the months: describe them in detail in future posts.
Finally, I give you some examples some images that are among the best-selling book of my portfolio:

46 dl: ± $ 50

18 dl: ± $ 20
scaricata 50 volte
50 dl: ± $ 18
As you see, it is obvious that a photograph taken in a room professional installation (the last) has good chances on the advertising market (in fact, the last has been online for less time and scored 50 of the other downloads in a little over a month) ... Paradoxically, the photo has given me more money is snapshot quite poor (anzi. .. I am very ugly ...) but it has obviously a wide scope of advertising;)
In the next post I will explain better the images in my experience "pull" more on the market, and especially what are the requirements for your photos and illustrations are accepted! ;)
